Our Platform Engineering teams are responsible for infrastructure, operations, observability, and engineering tooling for our AWS and Kubernetes-based compute, data, and eventing infrastructure supporting all InVision Engineering teams. We are enablers and force multipliers. We build products that help our engineering customers better own and operate their own services. We constantly work to understand the business goals ahead of our engineering teams, lay the groundwork before they arrive, and enable them to painlessly ship awesome, reliable, performant, efficient, and secure products as quickly as possible.

What I do:

• Contribute to assembling leading cloud infrastructure tools to meet the needs of product-engineering teams

• Contribute improvements in the tools back to the open-source community

• Work cross-functionally by partnering with product engineering teams to improve their developer experience and assist them with transitioning their services to new observability tooling and infrastructure

• Strive to improve operations, reliability, and observability of platform and product workloads

• Be on-call 1 week every 6 weeks for the infrastructure we support 

I started there as a senior engineer and today I have the role of SRE chapter leader, leading more than 9 teams to create guidelines, best practices, and abstractions to infrastructure as code, CI-CD pipelines, monitoring and alerting in an environment that has more than 350 microservices and 3+ cloud providers spread in different datacenters. 

Here I learned the principles of lean startup, learn how to scale up a business model, the IT environment, and the software architecture of all the 4 main products that the company offers.

My path here started as a software engineer focused on SRE in one main product, a SAAS product on AWS Cloud written in Java and with NOSQL and SQL multi-tenant databases, so my main objective was to maintain the environment healthy and with performance on the SLO's accorded with the client base.

Then Lincros merged with another company called HBSIS, and I became head of technology, I led the team on projects to migrate the .NET framework to .NET Core, SQL Server to PostgreSQL database, migrating the workloads from local datacenter to the cloud and introducing container strategies to the environment.
